The Return of the Wolf Eyes: Street Style Edition

My darling Jeanine makes another appearance on the blog as I snapped some photos of her on her way to work for Valentine's Day - how cute. So here she is, rockin' the American Apparel and some Russian Red on the lips (who can resist?). What a shame it was only for money makin' and not sweet love makin' on a hot Valentine's date (TMI?).

All photos were shot once again in f/ 1.8, and ISO 100, shot on aperture priority allowing my camera to choose shutter speed settings for me. I know I should probably experiment more with other settings, but I just can't get enough if this aperture, right? Maybe next post...

Men Fashion

Today, I dragged my boyfriend Spencer out in this blizzard to be my muse for this shoot. He lives out in the suburbs in a town called Aurora, so when I asked him for some good suggestions to photograph, he brought me to a forest. I really wanted to experiment shooting with guys, because up until now I've stuck with shooting women- they know their angles, and are a bit more flexible than men are. That being said, it was a bit of a challenge getting Spencer out of his goofy state and into something a bit more "model-esque" if you will. Nevertheless, it was a fun, cold, and hilarious experience.

More than just the Red and Pink...

Valentines Day - A day where people can celebrate their love for one another and where girls can wear red and pink together without shame! But who wants to limit their outfit to just two colours? Why not make this cute holiday even cuter with a stylish daytime look and chic evening ensemble? Do it best by emphasizing the Valentines theme in a subtle way, with a cool pair of red pants during the day before switching it up to a fancy pink shirt for you night time look. Its the best of both worlds!

DIY: Collar Details

DIY: Collar Details
There are so many tops now with beautiful embroidery, beads, pearls - any kind of embellishment - on the collar. I came across my little box of vintage clip-on earrings a few days ago and thought of an easy, fun and quick DIY idea. Enjoy! - Hannah C.
ISO = 200, F-stop = 8, Shutter Speed = 1/10
ISO = 200, F-stop = 8, Shutter Speed = 1/10

ISO = 200, F-stop = 8, Shutter Speed = 1/10
Step 1. Gather clip-on earrings and decide which ones to use - according to overall outfit.
Step 2. Open clip-on earring and place into collar button holes. (If your button-up collar doesn't have these holes, make a small slit.)
Step 3. Snap them on and position them lower down in order to cover up the hole.
Step 4. You're all set!

The Purse Essentials

F-Stop: 4.1    Shutter Speed: 60     ISO: 320

My friends tend to call me the most prepared girl in the world. I’m that girl that carries everything in her purse, kind of like the modern day Mary Poppins.  Here are some necessities you should always carry in your purse:

F-Stop: 3.5    Shutter Speed: 80     ISO: 200

1. Headphones + iPhone/iPod
For those long streetcar rides and brisk walks home. It's amazing how fast time goes by when your scrolling Instagram and Facebook creeping. And if you're looking for something else to pass the time, I'd recommend the Dead Yourself app where you get to turn yourself into a zombie. SO cool.

F-Stop: F9.0     Shutter Speed: 80     ISO: 1250

2. Pills
I swear I’m not a drug addict; I just like to be prepared with Advil, Gravol and Pepto just in case.

3. Wallet
Everyone needs some sort of wallet to keep all their cards and money. Now a days you can buy any kind of wallet; small, big, even wallets you can keep your iPhone in. I picked up this cute little change purse from a second hand store up North this summer. It’s the perfect size, fits all my cards and some change.

4. Pen
…And if you have a bigger purse, a Moleskin day planner.

5. Comb
I keep a comb on me to tidy up the flow throughout the day, so if Ryan Gosling happens to be walking down Gould Street, I’m set.

6. Red Lipstick
Brave Red from MAC is my go-to for red lips because it’s perfect for if you’re going out after work/class and want to feel a little va-va-voom.

7. Hand Cream
Sweet Pea from Bath and Body Works is hands down my favorite because it doesn’t leave a greasy feeling and it pretty much smells like angels, roses, heaven etc.

8. A Snack
I’ve learned to never leave your nutritional requirements to chance. I keep a LARA bar in my purse because they are super high in protein (and gluten-free!) and will keep tide you over. Sometimes you will be stuck in a 3 hour lecture and the prof decides to nix the break. Pass or eat? Eat.

Lipstick

My sister and I are kind of obsessed with lipstick so I decided to do a little shoot showing you guys my favourite MAC colours at the moment. Just a heads up though, I would recommend wearing a lip-liner with the first two (lady danger and diva) for a cleaner look. These are great all-season colours that easily complete an outfit, rain or shine!

American Dream in a Canadian Snow Storm

Taking pictures in snow is always my favorite environment because the pictures always end with great lighting. Knowing that, I wanted to take advantage of the crazy new addition Mother Nature so lovingly bestowed on us, and have a "Sassy Photo shoot" with one of my friends . My dear friend Bailey volunteered to be my snow queen, and I was able to end the day with some pretty spectacular photos. I was exceptionally pleased with the ressemblance to Mob Wives. Girl looks Fierce!
